À propos de l'œuvre

Shadows and Time propose un dialogue, exposé dans la dimension scénique d'un duel, d'un face à face entre les deux interprètes. Chaque flûte, dans l'ombre réciproque, se distingue progressivement du discours imitatif avec virtuosité et insistance - comme le tic-tac d'une horloge - parfois interrompu ou ponctué de brefs passages en homorythmie.

La voix est ici présente pour ses sonorités comme pour le sens qu'elle véhicule.

Les mots « shadows » et  « time » se retrouvent traduits dans les langues maternelles des dédicatoires : Sâyehâ - Lahze / Ying Zi - Shíjiãn

About the work

​

Shadows and Time proposes a dialogue, as presented in the staging of a duel, a confrontation between the two performers. Each flute shadows the other, gradually becoming distinguished from an imitative discourse by virtuosity and insistence - like the ticking of a clock -  sometimes interrupted or punctuated by brief homorhythmic  passages.

​

The voice is used for its sound, and the meaning it conveys.

​

The words "shadows" and "time" are found in the native languages of the dedicatees : Sâyehâ - Lahze / Ying Zi - Shíjiãn
